  Yellow wallpaper 是美國作家夏洛特·珀金斯·吉爾曼的短篇小說，故事背後探討著多種女性主義問題。故事非常creepy ，描述女主因疑似患有產後憂鬱症，於是和丈夫一同到鄉下休養。她的房間四周貼滿了黃色的壁紙，隨著待在房間裡的時間越長，她越覺得壁紙後藏著一個人，她必須把她放出來！

  她丈夫禁止她做任何事，認為休養才能使她康復。女主曾描述過她丈夫 “ He said we came here solely on my account, that I was to have perfect rest and all the air I could get. “Your exercise depends on your strength, my dear,” said he, “and your food somewhat on your appetite; but air you can absorb all the time.” (他說是因為我的緣故才會搬來這裡住，這裡有我需要的新鮮空氣和高質量休息。他說：親愛的，鍛鍊基於體力，食物基於食慾，可是獲取新鮮空氣卻很簡單，你只要呼吸就夠了。）

  什麼都不用做，是丈夫對妻子的期待，也是十九世紀當時男人對女人的期待。
